HI saw this on the NC/SC roots list and thought everyone should take a look at this site. Hope someone finds something. Jeanne Abrams Polries researching ABrams & DEAL of NC <<From: "Bobby G. Lykins Jr." <[email protected]> Subject: New Help for Genealogists Hi Everyone, This is a newly revised website that I had up once before and it got old and stale. But I've just today updated it with a bunch of new items!! I call the site " The Claim-It Page". Pretty much what the site is about, is old documents, and old photos I've found on antiquing trips around the southeast. These items can be sent back to their rightful family members if they can prove their line to the item wanted. Please understand I don't just want these items out there for decorations. As genealogists, we should ALL understand the value of these items. I'm simply having fun hunting for these things, and hopefully at the same time helping somebody out there! So if you're interested in seeing these items click on the link: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~lykins/index.htm There are several items and we're still-hunting for new ones. If you have an item you've found and would like to have it posted on the site let me know. I can get your info and post it as being available. Understand though, this isn't a for sale site! Hopefully this site will help someone to get a piece of they're family history back! :) Happy Hunting Bobby Lykins>>

Dear Sherrie, Not sure if this will help but when I was researching my Canadian Barnetts I came across a couple of Barnett families whose ancestors came from Scotland. They were living around the Ingersoll area of Oxford County, Ontario, Canada. What I did was to send a letter to all the Barnetts in this area of Ontario. I got their addresses from http://canada411.sympatico.ca/ which is the online telephone book for Canada. Two of the replies I received were from Scottish Barnett descendants. Unfortunately as I did not have any connection with this branch of the Barnett clan, so I didn't hold on to the correspondence. If you are interested in following up what I did all you need to do is insert the name Barnett, city of Ingersoll and the Province of Ontario in the 411 webpage. This will bring up the telephone number and address of any Barnetts in this town. Repeat this procedure with adjacent towns. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Acres/7990/Oxford_County_queries.html This site will give you a list of towns in Oxford County. It could be that one set of your ancestors headed for Australia and another to Canada. Good luck and I hope this helps? Dear Alan, I put my query to the Barnett group as this was the obvious place to find out if any of my Barnetts were 17th, 18th or 19th century colonists/emigrants in either America or Australia. I have already discovered a third cousin in Arkansas, USA whose Barnett family settled in Ontario, Canada in the 19th century. I find it strange that you should think that the Barnett list is not for English Barnett listers, perhaps you could tell me where you think your colonial/emigrant Barnetts came from originally? As regards subscribing to the Warwickshire list, that is a non starter, because as I said in my previous email my Barnett research is in the English Counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. Anyway thanks for your suggestions. Hi, in the earlier post re: Shadrac BARNETT forgot to mention that one of his grandsons, William BARNETT, went into North Carolina, was an attorney in the early 1900's. His grandson Earl Marcellus BARNETT, I believe, stayed in Georgia and was in the restaurant business. His grandson Thomas Henry Shadrac/Shedrick BARNETT was in the hotel/restaurant management business in Austin, Texas. Their sister, Allie Ann BARNETT, married V.G. JOHNSTON and lived in Atlanta, GA. Their parents were Alice Lucinda NICHOLS and James Thomas BARNETT. The family lines are supposed to go back to VA and England and there was an ancestral grandfather in the Civil War but don't know who it was, when family emigrated, etc.. Bellinda
Can I make a suggestion! PLEASE put at least ONE date in your query as it gives a TIME FRAME for the ancestor you are searching. When I read a query that does not have a date anywhere in the text I wonder if they are referring to the 19th century or the 20th century.

John Sherriss BARNETT married Janet HISLOP (c.1837 Glasgow) in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia 1860. William BARNETT married Mary HISLOP (c.1840 Perth) in Melbourne, Victoria Australia 1863.
