Lubbock Avalance Journal Lubbock, Texas 12-01-03 Funeral services for Edith F. Barnes, age 91, of Okmulgee, Okla., will be at 11 a.m. Wed- nesday, Dec. 3, at Rest- havens Abbey Chapel with Rev. John H. Johns officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Mrs. Barnes died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, in Lubbock. She was born Nov. 10, 1912, in Oklahoma. In 1934 she married Coley Barnes, who preceded her in death in 1974. Mrs. Barnes had lived in Okmulgee since 1947, moving to Lubbock in 2000 for health reasons. She was a member of First Christian Church and the Nettie B Fair Chapter of Eastern Star in Okmulgee. She was in the Pony Girls for over 50 years and in several quilting clubs. She is also preceded in death by three sons, Corkey, Karl, and Richard Dean Barnes; her parents; and five brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Virginia and Robert Melvin of Lubbock, and Vicki and Clyde Green of Taylor, Texas; one son, Don and Jeannie Barnes of Fallon, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-granddaughters. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
