I'm looking for information about a Pleasant Barnes who appears in the will of William Hood, Jr., written in 1821 in Lunenburg County, Virginia. Pleasant Barnes was named as one of William Hood, Jr.'s executors. Then in 1823 he is named as "guardian and next friend" of several of William Hood, Jr.'s grandchildren, the children of David & Susannah Hood Bates, in a lawsuit. One of those children was named Pleasant. Also a Pleasant Barnes is listed as the person who performed marriages for a number of Bates children. I am wondering if Pleasant Barnes might have been the brother of William Jr.'s wife, Martha. Does anyone have any info about this man? Thanks, Juli
