On ancestry.com in the 1860 TX census there are only two boys in the time frame. One born abt 1857 2 yrs old whose parents were born in TN and he is listed as James Barnes. Another born abt 1858 listed as 1yr old parents born in MO listed as James D. Barnes. 1860 TN Montague Co p6 of 21 on ancestry.com census dated Aug 14, 1860: Wm Barnes 39 farmer MO Sarah E. Barnes 23 MO James D. Barnes 1 TX I cannot find James and his family in the 1870 census. 1880 TX Burnet Co Prec 6 found on familysearch.com James D. Barnes 20 TX ? ? Laura wife 25 IA CA OH Elliot H.
