It's been several years since I last posed the following question. With what seems to be tremendously increased activity on the Barnes List it seems worth looking for an answer again. Nathaniel Barnes (wife's name Annis but no last name available), my G G G G Grandfather, came to Merriconeag, part of what was then North Yarmouth and now Harpswell, Maine in 1731. Have a fairly good history of his activities (and many of his descendants) from that date on but have never been ably to find where he came from. Other family members from Maine to California have had the same problem. Would appreciate any leads that may exist. George Barnes
