Ransom Barnes was born in SC probalby during the late 1820s. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Buice possibly in Forsyth Co GA, possibly before arriving there. Died in Civil War service. Had one son - John, several daughters, most of which married Garmons. Another son William, seems to disappear. He may have died as a child. Seeking information on where in SC he was from, identity of parents, siblings, etc. Joe Harrington Canton GA
Dear Joe, I'm not sure where my Charlotte Martha Barnes was born, but some family information suggests SC or GA. Her husband was born in NC about 1780. One of his brothers m in Columbia Co, GA. I find the name of your Ransom Barnes interesting because Charlotte M. Barnes and her husband, Owen J. Ellis, named a son Ransom. Also, a William Barnes resided close to Charlotte & Owen on several MS censuses. I wonder if our families are connected.
