My Barnes in Mississippi are George William BARNES, b., Forest Co, MS. sp. unknown. Children: Edward, b. 1843-MS; d. 1865 - MS; James W., b. 1845-MS, d.-1865-MS; John Alonzo, b. 1849-MS, d.-1918-TX, m. twice; & Mary Melissa, b. ?, d.? John Alonzo is my g-grandfather. I have very sketcy information about his ancestors; my Grandfather once told me the Barnes came here from Germany and that Edward & James supposedly died upon returning from the Civil War starving and overeating! Would love to make a connection and be glad to share any information I do have.
