Since I 've received no response, My ggrandfather, John Alonzo moved from MS to Texas at least by 1888 when my grandfather, William Robert, was born in Ellis Co. Texas. He (John) died in Christoval, Tom Green Co, TX in 1918. My grandparents had 4 children, William Marvin, Ella Mae, Mary Virginia, & John Lewis. Also, my grandfather once told me our ancestors came from Germany (Deutschland). -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: BARNES-D Digest V04 #107 Date: Thu, 19 Aug 2004 15:03:13 -0500 From: Mary Hearn <mlshearn@houston.rr.com> To: BARNES-L@rootsweb.com References: <200408191000.i7JA034b003870@lists5.rootsweb.com> My Barnes in Mississippi are George William BARNES, b., Forest Co, MS. sp. unknown. You may wish to Google to the Barnes DNA site and lake a look. Also the micro films of the late Maj. Raymond Curtis Barnes, circa 1969, ONe reel, or those of the late Harold Butler Moran, circa 1989, abt 8 reels, are good sources for many of our surname.
