Barnes in 1862 joined a wagon train to leave Missouri and follow the Oregon Trail to Oregon. The brothers settled in the village of Cove, OR, Union Co., OR --- near LaGrande, OR. Mary Eveline may have come with them or come later. After their families were grown, Oliver and George moved to Paradise, Wallowa Co., OR, just a few miles from the WA border. Oliver and perhaps George moved again later farther to Asotin, in Asotin Co., WA. Asotin was by the Snake River (border with Idaho), just a few miles south of the present cities of Clarkston, WA and Lewiston, ID. Oliver and possibly George died in Asotin. Oliver's wife Arminta lived her last days back in Cove, OR, with her daughter Arminta Sills, and died Feb. 6 1920. Looking for ancestors, descendants, cousins and related bits of history. Jim
