Haynes, was born abt 1856, in AL. Date and place of death is unknown at this time. In the Notes of David Barnes it said "Benjamin H. Barnes moved to Dallas, TX." From the papers of Gladys Baird "Grandpa Barnes [John Samuel Barnes] had a brother, Ben who lived in Dallas, and had a daughter named Tommy. . .", [thanks to Josephine, we have a picture of Tommy] Notes: From information lately sent by our cousin David Barnes: 1880 Census Dallas TX, Precinct 5. A.W. Green, Male, Maried, White, age 27, b. TX, occupation Farmer, father b. IL, Mother b. ILL S.F Green, Wife, Female, married, age 23, b. MS, occ. Keeping house, father b. VA, mother b. Barnes, Other, Male, Single, white, age 23, b. AL, occ. Laborer, father b. GA, mother b. AL Wood McKnight, Other, Male, Single, Black, age 8, b. TX, father b. AL, mother b. AL And then, after putting out a query on the Barnes list, I recieved the following: "I found your Benjamin in the 1900 Census. His wife's name is Jennie and daughter Tommie, or Frommie, birth info Ben is 6/1856< Jennie 7/1869, and tommie is 11/1890. He was born in Alabama, father same, mother same, Jennie was born in Kentucky, her father in Virginia, her mother in Kentucky. Tommie was born in Texas. They lived and owned their house without a mortgage at 269 Gaston. He worked as a RR Baggage?, can't make out the rest of the word." A few minutes later I recieved this message: " I also found this info on your Ben Ben H. Barnes H.&T.C., T.& P.; t.T.
