I received this from another list and thought it might be of interest to help young people learn about their ancestry. Please pass this on. Thank you and have a great day Elaine Hello Everyone, I am the new coordinator for KidzGenWeb at _http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgwkidz/index.htm. _ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgwkidz/index.htm. ) This site has been around for a while now, but has not been pushed very hard. I need your help getting it out. This site is for children and teens so that they are able to post surnames, queries and class room genealogy projects so that other children/teens or adults may be able to help them with their search. Only children can post surnames and queries, however, adult researchers can answer the queries or post helpful hints. This link is being forwarded by fellow researchers like yourself to schools and libraries as well. Please be so kind to post this link to your county page(s) and/or list groups. I am researching Thomas Barnes who was born in Winterborne Clenston, Dorset in 1840. I have looked in the Parish Registers and cannot find him at present. He married Ellen about 1861/2 and they lived in Blandford. They had moved to Moordown, Bournemouth by the time of the 1881 census. Does anyone have any connection with Thomas? Does anyone have any connection with the Rev William Barnes who was born at Bagber, Sturminster Newton in 1801? I am wondering if these two branches of the Barnes family were in fact related in any way. Would love to hear from somone. Liz Pitkin Bournemouth

I am trying to locate The Henry BARNES Family of South Carolina. My information is scanty but I found him in the 1850 South Carolina Census for Darlington County. He is found in the 1st Division as follows: BARNES, Henry 43-M- W- Farmer " Sarah 43-F " William 21-M " Margaret 20-F " H. R. 17-M " Frances 15-F " Simpson(?) 13-M " Henry 12-M " Mary 9-F " Thomas 8-M " Newton(?) 5-M " Ellen 3-F I could not find him in the census after that. I almost missed this year because, only Henry was listed in the index. His family had omitted. It was only by going page to page that I found them. So, if anyone comes across them in succeeding years, please let me know. I believe Mary to be my Great-grandmother. She married my G-grandfather John William PERRITT (PARROTT). She died after my grandmother was born and I have no information about her. Thank you for helping me to locating this family. Any help in locating this family will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Mary Poston Welch

Would anyone here happen to have home access to census info? I am currently without such. I am interested in an 1860 report for the family of Moses L. BARNES and his wife Nancy "Nannie" H. WALKER. Nannie was born 1840 in Adair County, KY. From other info that I have, I believe that they met in either Macon or Randolph County, MO. I don't know where Moses was born, but I am trying to see if I can tie him to my husband's BARNES family. Nannie was a sister to my GGGgrandfather, Edmond WALKER. I would also be interested in finding Moses, with his parents, in an 1850 census report (since he and Nannie didn't marry until 1858. Thanks for any help. Leslie (Bridges) Kohler
I am curious if anyone is reseaching Barnes' in Larue Co., KY? Archibald Barnes, b. ca. 1787 in MD., m. Sally Atherton in Hardin Co. in abt. 1810. This area later became Larue Co. They had a son Abel that m. Mary Devers and also a daughter that m. a Dewitt. Also in Larue Co. (1850) was a James B. Barnes, b. ca. 1805, with wife Mary, age 45, born in Scotland children; Jno. W. age 18, M, born in IA. Jas. S. age 16, M, KY R. T. age 14, M, " M. J. age 11, F, " Wm. A. age 9, M, " E. A. age 7, F, " M. A. age 5, F, " Alex B. age 3, M, " Geo. F. age 1, M, " James B. Barnes is likely the son of Elijah Barnes who died in nearby Nelson Co., KY in Feb. 1845. One reason being Elijah's Will, which states; "I give and bequeath...in trust to my son James and his wife and children the tract of land on which he now lives on Middle Creek in Larue County. Also in Larue Co. was a William Barnes 1802-1857 and wife Elizabeth, and are buried in the old Nolynn Bapt. Church Cemetery located near Hodgenville. Elizabeth's last name is likely Willcocks. The likely father of William is either Samuel (d. 1858) or his brother Elijah Barnes (1777-1845), but I've not seen any proof of which one is the father. Elijah and Samuel who arrived in nearby Nelson Co., Ky when they were young. Elijah died in Nelson Co. and Samuel died in Illinois before 1859, location unknown. Samuel, Elijah and the above mentioned Archibald, were children of James Barnes that died in Nelson County, KY in 1795. I am currently writing a book on the descendants of James Barnes, who died in Nelson Co., KY. in 1795. Any information and or clues would be appreciated. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - Easier than ever with enhanced search.
