    3. Can anyone help this gentleman? Subject: Gen Barlow & Red Cross Eric Reinhert eric.a.reinert@hq02.usace.army.mil My name is Eric Reinert and I am the Curator of the U.S. Amry Corps of Engineers, Office of History. I am researching the Red Cross Headquarters building in Washington, DC, as the Corps was involved in its construction. The building was originally constructed as a memorial to the woment of the Civil War. There is a story that Gen Barlow was the impetus behind the idea of a memoral to women, since he lost his first wife. The story follows that his wish was carried out by a Captain James Scrymser (presumably of his Civil War command, but not confirmed.) Can this role of Gen. Barlow be confirmed (or denied?) Any assistance would be appreciated! Thanks, Eric Reinert 703-428-7241 LOOKING FOR BARLOWS BARLOW GENEALOGY http://www.barlowgenealogy.com "A website for everyone researching the surname Barlow, any spelling or variation, anywhere, anytime... includes....Barlow, Barlowe, Barlo, Barloe, Barler, Parler, Parlur, Barlage, and others yet to be discovered"
