It has come to my attention that several of you might not know that you have FREE access to all census images online ... and much faster and better service than Ancestry. Heritage Quest is free if you have a library card at almost any library. Check with your library, and if you don't have a library card and pin number, they'll give you one. You can use it at home on your computer, you don't have to go to the library. They have from 1790 to 1930..not all are indexed...in that case, instead of the search feature, you have to use the browse feature, you can usually find an index online at some rootsweb database. It is wonderful. You have to go in thru your libraries URL .. so again, check at your local library. You can all search your families in only a few days. They also have several genealogy books online at Heritage, I haven't used that feature a lot, but it is neat. It is all images and very slow searching, but I have found some unusual stuff there, most books are from genealogist, or wanna be genealogists who have written family books.
