I am very excited. We have a 36-37 match between my John Barlow of Mississippi family and the George Barlow and Sarah Ubanks family. I'm still trying to figure out how this works, as we also have a 36-37 match with William Barlow and Edith Mathoda of Georgia, but then George and William have a 35-37 match. So I assume that means that while George and William are equally related to John, they are more distantly related to one another. I truthfully I don't know.if any one of you can explain this to me, please do. I will have to write to Mr. Bennett at Family Tree DNA and ask him about that . I have just completed a weeks work updating the families of George and Sarah, not having a clue that they would be closely related to our family ... for those of you interested.it is at: http://www.barlowgenealogy.com/Families/GeorgeBarlow-SarahUbanks.html They were from Virginia, Ohio and Missouri. We also got results back today to complete the 37 marker test, which at 25 was an exact match for Samuel Ainsworth of Lancashire, but at 37, they are 3 markers away. Interesting also. Also of great interest, is that we have finally got a donor for the George Barlow of Sandwich lineage. Will excitedly await those results.
