You live in Illinois, I grew up in Peoria (both sets of grandparents having moved there--one from Lincoln, IL and one from Decatur, IL to work in the factories during WWII). I live in Indianapolis, you grew up just west of here! The information you gave me on Jane Barlow is much more than I had! It gives me somewhere to start. I wonder if Grandpa Dial's cousin was confusing A.B.'s marriage to a "cousin" with Ambrose Barlow and Anna Smith?
