    3. I may have mentioned, I have been working for a few weeks now on and off, John Barlow of Dallas Co Alabama. Haven't succeeded in getting his ancestry yet, but have gotten a lot of descendants. I am in a quandary over this guy! John lives in Dallas Co Alabama, with his wife Elizabeth. They have 4 children, Sarah, Mary, George and Frances. Sarah and Mary both married Newberry's, and George married Mary A. Frances married a CROCKER. What is really strange is that in 1830, John is living next door to Lucy Barlow Crocker and her husband Drury CROCKER. I can not find a relationship between them, but there is bound to be one. Lucy is the daughter of Jesse Barlow and Lucy Wills, as your IOW folks know, and in Jesse's will, he doesn't mention a son John, which would have been my first choice. I've worked on Isle of Wight a lot, and haven't found a John anywhere in there that is not accounted for. To make things even stranger...I found 2 marriage records in Dallas Co Al, one showing Drury Crocker married Frances Barlow, and the second showing he married Lucy Barlow. I had always assumed that he married Lucy's sister, Frances/Fanny first, and perhaps she died, and he then married Lucy. John Barlow's daughter was alive in 1852 when he wrote his will, while Drury is deceased. Were there two Drury Crockers???? This is maddening. Can anyone give me any clues. Also, Elizabeth Barlow has a will, Dallas Co Alabama, dated 1857 I believe, I need a copy of that, but since it is not my family, I am not willing to pay the $25 fee to the archives to retrieve it. Anybody have a copy on file of that will. I doubt it will help find John's ancestors, but might help on Frances Barlow Crocker, as I cannot locate her on any census record after she married.
