Eckhoff. http://www.caledonianrecord.com/pages/community_deaths/story/b2244467c from the Caledonian-Record St. Johnsbury, Vermont ECKHOFF: Doris C., 89 Friday June 18, 2004 ECKHOFF: Doris C., 89, of Lyndonville, Vt., passed away Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndonville. She was born in Barton, Vt., March 6, 1915, the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Grace A. (Brown) Devereaux. She moved with her family to Jersey City, N.J., when she was a young child. Later she met Albert L. Miller and they married Aug. 7, 1931. They moved to Sutton, Vt., and then to Weston, Conn., where Albert died Sept. 6, 1965. They had two daughters, Carol G. and Janet. C. Doris moved back to Lyndonville and married William L. Eckhoff on Jan. 24, 1970. They lived on Lake Willoughby in the summers and Palm Coast, Fla., winters. William had a daughter, Tina. He died Sept. 8, 1991. Doris worked at the Darling Inn and was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She loved time with her family, winters in Florida, flowers and birds. She was a 4-H leader, a member of the American Legion, a foster parent and a Hungarian refugee host family. Her family members include her children, Carol Barlow of West Burke, Vt., and her late husband Lawrence Barlow, Tina Mohr and her husband Tom Featheringham of Sutton, Vt., and Janet Clark and her husband Jeff Robinson of Franklin, N.H.; her grandchildren, Sean A. Barlow of Sutton, Paul and K. Barlow of West Burke, Rebecca Clark and Joel Hernendez of Kansas City, Kan., and Cristen and Joe Tolpin of Canterbury, N.H.; her great-grandchildren, Stacy and Erin Barlow of Barton, Krista and Payton Barlow of West Burke, and Kaylee McLure of Newport, Vt.; and her sister-in-law, Louise Devereaux of Lyndonville. She was predeceased by her husbands, Albert L. Miller and William L. Eckhoff; her brother, Urban H. "Bud" Devereaux; and a son-in-law, Lawrence P. Barlow. A graveside ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Doris requested donations be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Attention: Richard Roessler, 51 Elm St., P.O.
