This linage is what I am trying to trace. My grandfather Frank Barlow was born in new york inon 7-4-1863, dies seattle washington, married Ellen Nettie Mury born Wisc died seattle washington. My great grandfather Patrick Barlow was born in limerick Ireland and died 11-23-1889, in Winona Minn. the famil line stops there. My dad has been hunting for years and I recently took over the task. I am interested in the family of Jonathan Barlow and Nancy Thomas. They came from Lee Co.VA and moved to Claiborne Co.TN I have pictures of the couple. They were my great great great grandparents. I also have pictures of their tombstones.They are buried in the Bunch Town Cem.,near the Clinch River,in Claiborne Co.TN Jonathan was born March 22,1820 and died March 15,1903. Nancy was born May 9,1826 and died April 11,1884. She looks like a Cherokee Indian. Another searcher thinks that Jonathan is the son of Solomon Barlow and Cressie Grasse. I have just changed computers with what I guess is a new version of Outlook Express. I receive the Barlow Mailing List in Digest form with the individual messages listed as attachments. I am now getting the mailing list, but no attachements. I get a message "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail". Other people must have run into this. Barbara, Not sure I can be of any "help," other that join you as another seeker in trying to sort out the many Barlows in NY during the early 19th century. I am searching for a John W. Barlow, born around 1810, in NY. Migrated to Ohio in early 1830s, then back to Dunkirk, NY, then to KY, finally settling in the Iowa in the 1840s. He was a land speculator in the Iowa Territory in the 1830/40s and did some land patents there with a George Barlow in the 1830s--could well have been his brother or other relative. John W. Barlow also named his first born son George--given naming patterns of the time, could well be after his brother. Don't know if connected, but I always try to respond to queries of this sort on the off chance someone might have or recognize a connection. Hi Billy....... I read your request posted on the Barlow mailing list and it caught my eye because I have Carnleys on my great grandmother's side. My great grandmother was Rosanna Carnley and married Daniel Barlow. So the common ancestor for both your Henry and my Rosanna was Lewis Carnley. I went to the Carnley website and see a listing for Henry and Nancy on there. There is not much information, but it does list their children. Maybe you could dig a little deeper through their site.
