I suppose so...but here was a sister of Augusta named Flora...that may be a situation I will further explore. Susan, I went to HQ and looked and the page I mentioned Rueban was on was the same one I found on ancestry. If you go to the next page on HQ you will see Flora A and 2 boys. Coalport, PA, 1915, son of Nathan Clyde & Nora May Steckline Barlow - no information except they lived in and near Reading, PA, 1930s, 40s, 50s. Thomas is my gggg-grandfather. I was wondering if anyone has an occupation listed for him? Many of the Barlows from his line were gunsmiths blacksmiths and jewelers etc. One of his sons Jesse Barlow (my ggg-grandfather) I found listed as a gunsmith and I know that my gg-grandfather (that Jesse's son) Jesse M. Barlow was a gunsmith. Also a son of Jesse M. John W. Barlow made guns too. Jesse Barlow Saddler, off-spring of Thomas' daughter Lucy (aka Linsey) also made guns. After Lucy's husband (Saddler) died she remarried a Cottingham and they moved to Decatur Co. Indiana near where I live in Shelby Co. and also near Rush County where many of those Barlows ended up. The three counties all corner up together. I was told by my father (deceased) that Jesse M. Barlow lived with his aunt Lucy for a while when he first came to Indiana. It is also possible that his whole family came together and stayed with her until they found a place. I have no information on that possibility but all of Jesse M. Barlow's brothers married in Rush county and he did too. My father said that supposedly the first Jesse Barlow came to Indiana but returned to Cynthiana KY to be buried. No actual info on that either. That first Jesse Barlow was married to Nancy Gosnell a sister of Benjamin Gosnell who was at one time married to Elizabeth Younnell Barlow, a sister of Jesse Barlow and of Lucy (Barlow) Saddler. (I have to wonder where that "Younnell" middle name came from???) Also Benjamin Gosnell's brother William was married to Jane Barlow another sister of Jesse's. Willis Barlow, a son of the first Jesse Barlow married a Frances "Fanny" Gosnell. I have the children of that Jesse Barlow (b.Abt 1779 d. Aft 1863) and Nancy (Gosnell) Barlow as: Jesse Maurice Barlow b.1805 d.1882) my gg-grandfather. Willis Barlow Lewis Barlow b.1807 d.1887 William Barlow b.1815 Newton Barlow b.1821 I am always looking for more info on any of these... Hello Barlow researchers, Wondering if anyone can identify a William Barlow in the 1870 census? I am wondering if he belongs in my family. I am trying to locate Charles W Barlow, born after the 1850 census ( June 1 I believe), born in Cole, MO and so far he is my best fit. Charles father was William so I believe the middle name would be William. I am looking at William Barlow, age 20, born in MO working as a teamster, living in the household of L Green, wife Mary Green and kids Laura? and Frank, kids names not very legible. I have spent the last 3 weeks working on this family, and have made a lot of progress, have gone as far as I will for now, except that many of the links to the census images are not yet attached or uploaded. The only part of it I might question is son William Barlow who married Lucinda Burns.they were in Gallia Co Ohio while the rest of the family was in Jackson Co Ohio. My reason for naming him as a son, is partially because of what I found on Rootsweb and LDS, but primarily because of a William Barlow whom I believe is his son, found in the home of Sarah Ubanks Barlow in 1860, and have traced him out as William Jefferson Barlow who was in Jackson Co Ohio, and migrated to Missouri along with many members of George' Barlow's family. I am now trying to find any male descendents of George Barlow and Ida Shaw (sons Lawrence or Loius) or of Buetelle Barlow and Mary Bender or Archie Barlow and Mabel Fenner. I had my uncle lined up to do the DNA test, in fact I have the test sitting on my desk, but his daughter talked him out of doing it. They don't feel it is appropriate to have his DNA on the internet so I need another relative of my line. Does anyone out there know of a male descendent of one of these men???? Judy Huff
