Hi, my ggrandpa is Joel Barker. I never knew any thing about him. From your post maby I have been in the wrong county. I have been only in Lee. Co., Va. Joels son Henry Abraham Barker married to Mary Callie Pennington, their son (my grandpa is) Melvin Dock Green Lee Barker married Lovey Jane Lee. their son(my dad) Bernard Roscoe Barker and me Lola Carol Barker/Hall. if any of this connects please let me know.
