My great grandfather, James Barker, was born (maybe) in Vermont about 1797. His son James Barker was born in Goshen Gore, Vermont about 1813-21 (he gave his birthdate different every time) He had two brothers William and John G. born in Vt. and a sister, Rachael born in NY. That is all the siblings I know of. They were in New York, Michigan and Iowa. James Jr,'s son Austin Barker was born in 1855 in Delhi, Delaware Co, Iowa and later, Moline, Ill, Council Bluffs, Omaha and Colorado. I am not sure what happened to William and John G. Barker. I am told that one went west and one went to Missouri. They were in the Iowa census in 1860 but after that I can find no record. I looked at the 1880 census. I keep posting, hoping someone will come along that will know at least one of them! I have always been told that they came from Rhode Island originally.
