    3. Hi all, I had just about given up hope ever finding George A Barkers family when along came James E Barker his brother. I found him by putting in George's son Emerson's name in the LDS site. It seems he was named for James Emerson Barker his uncle. well that led me to all James's children and their families and now here's the crazy thing on both James and George's death certificates it says parents unknown. How dumb. Next I found their obits. George's said his father was Aaron. There is no Aaron that matches this family.so I thought to myself why should I believe his name was Aaron when nobody knew what name to give on his death certificate. So now here I am I know nothing about there parents. James and George were born in Dutchess county NY. One in 1823 the other in 1819. They both moved to CT. James stayed there through out his life . George traveled around but I found him in all census records living in Litchfield CT.except one when he and his second wife Lucy Mallory wer! e living in Bowling Green VA. It seems George traveled and preached for the Advent Christian Union. George was first married to Sarah Ann Beach they had the following children Albert,Sabra,Emerson,George William,Charles and Lucy.James was married to Harriet Ives.He also had a long list of children if anyone would like their names please ask. George died in Bristol CT in 1905. James in Kent CT in 1908. If any has heard of my Barkers let me know. I recently heard from a James F Barker in Alaska. He is descended from my James E but knew less than I did about the Barkers. He's all excited now and is taking a trip to Cornwall England this summer to hunt for our ancestors. It's great to meet new cousins. we had a barker reunion last year in CT. We had great fun. Planning another one for this summer. I hope you all find your Barkers and have great fun doing so. If I can ever be of help please let me know. Are we having fun yet Diane
