I think these Barkers were dropped from a spaceship. My Hiram Barker, couldn't from census to Census remember where He was born. One Census says Indiana the next says KY. The next door neighbor, Allen Barker, was only listed in the 1850 Census and listed KY.(That was the one Hiram listed IN. I can't even prove they are related. Allen's Children were: Drucilla, Sarah, Wilson, Lura, Lewis and John. Hiram's children were John, Juliana, Allen, Drucilla. Sarah, William and Emeline. I suspect that Allen and Hiram were brothers; Allen was born 1809 and Hiram in 1824. As you say it is frustrating.
