That said, I wanted to let the list know that I have a copy of the military history for one Hiram Barker bn in Cairo, New York. Hiram was a member of the 8th Regt. of NY Heavy Artillery. He joined on 1 Jan 1864 and was wounded, losing his right arm. This file includes a copy of his discharge. I would like to see that it goes to someone who is researching this family.
