I'm thinking those born in England and Wales. Sorry to confuse you. Linda
I have gotten all my birth, death and marriage records from LDS. Have you tried that? Linda Barker
Have you check Vital Statistics in the state, county she was born. There may only be a written record. I know because I had to do this to get my mother's. Also, found my uncle's as I am named after him. Martha, Pardon me for jumping in here, but would you happen to know what part of TX your collateral line settled in? Mine settled mainly in the Gregg, Harrison and Upshur county areas. My great grandpa -- Walter Leroy BARKER (b 07 Feb 1876 Murfreesboro, Rutherford Co., TN d 1957 in TX) had a farm that straddled the Harrison and Upshur county lines. Walter was 5 months old when his father died of TB in TN, and 4 years old when his mother died after being in TX only 3 weeks -- having also contracted TB. He was raised by his surviving older brother: Thomas Gordon - b 16 Nov 1859 Rutherford Co., TN d 1932 Longview, Gregg Co., TX. Walter BARKER married Estelle KUYKENDALL in 1900, and they had 7 children -- my grandmother, Lillian "Jewel" being the 2nd oldest. I have Barkers in Pulaski County, Kentucky, and Adamses in Rockcastle. If you will check on the internet, you can find both birth and death records for Kentuky. As I recall, Kentucky began keeping birth and death records about 1911. Thus you should be able to find death records for all the people you have listed. Death records include place of birth and names of parents. The space for these is sometimes blank. After all, the person who knew these things had just died. I mentioned the fact that I have Adams ancestors in Rockcastle County because a family name as a middle name so often indicates that the child was named for a mother or grandmother or some other person in the family by that name.. Let me add that there are many other Adamses in Rockcastle who are not of my line. Hi, I have a James Emerson Barker b 1819 in beekman NY. George was b. in 1823 in Amenia NY. I know from an obit there was at least one more sibling a girl. George married Sarah ann Beach of Plymouth CT. in1843. They had Albert M, 1846 , Sabra in 1844, who later married John Slocum. George , Charles J, William E, and Lucy who died very young.George lived in Plymouth CT, but he traveled around preaching in Pawling NY, Mass, and Virginia. When Sarah died in 1868,he married Lucy Mallory. George died in Bristol CT in 1905. James married Harriet Ives and and raised his family in Kent CT. I have read both George and James's death certificates they say parents unknown. George's obit says his father was Aaron. I doubt if he went by that name because there is no trace of him. If these people match anyone you know please contact me. Or if you have any suggestions feel free to advise me. Thankyou Diane

My Barkers came from Rockingham County, NC, and there was a George Barker in the family. My ancestor was Catherine Barker, who married Capt. Richard Vernon, in 1789. He was a captain in the Revolutionary War. Catherine Barker is said to have been the daughter of Leonard Barker. There were two Leonard Barkers in Rockingham whom I have taken to be father and son. One of them was in the same company that Capt. Richard Vernon headed up during the Revolutionary War. The Barkers are rumored to have come from Virginia. Capt. Richard Vernon and several of his children came to Williamson County, Tennessee, in the early to mid 1800's. They did not all come at one time, but drifted in over a period of several years. A George Barker came with them and settled in the southern part of Williamson County. There are descendants of his who live in the area. I don't know too much about them. They don't look like the ones you are looking for. Vance Little Brentwood, TN 37027
