    1. [BARKER] JAMES E BARKER
    2. Diane and Bob Buddenbohn
    3. Hi, My James E Barker was b. in Beekman or North East NY in 1819. He had a brother George A Barker b. in 1823 in Amenia NY. They both moved to CT . James was married to Harriet Ives around 1840. They lived in Kent. George married Sarah ann Beach in 1841 in Plymouth Ct. I know they had other siblings but who George's obit in 1905 said he still had a brother and a sister living. I have found no records that say who the parents were. George's obit said he was the son of Aaron. If he was Aaron must have gone by another name.Has anyone ever heard of these Barkers? George's daughter was Sabraette married to John Slocum. I'll leave that mystery alone for now. Any help will be appreciated. Diane

    2. My John G. Barker was alive in 1856 and was supposed to have moved to Missouri. Anything is possible. He was in NY for a while but seemed to be married to the same person for a while. They had a lot of children. And I know he was born in VT and so was his father. Do you have any John G. information that I could use? Thanks, Coral

    3. Any chance this John G. Barker had a mistress named Lucetta Lusk? She bore him three sons... two made it to adulthood. She gave them the BARKER name. She was on the 1850 census for New York as Lucetta Lusk and her sons are surnamed BARKER. I understand John G. Barker died in 1851 per one of the son's Civil War pension records but not other information about who John G. Barker was. Have information on several John G. Barkers but none that indicate an association with Lucetta Lusk. She was listed as being from Ireland on the census information. I think mine is James M Barker but his pension records say "S" so it makes it difficult. My Barker's spent some time in NY. Gardner Barker son of John G Barker was born in NY in 1845. Maybe he had a son named James. There are so many. Also I think I saw a James W Barker in Missouri which is where John G was supposed to have gone after he left Iowa about the time of the Civil War. 2. James Barker Jr. was born in Caledonia Co. Goshen Gore ( Stannard) Vermont. There is one James Barker (his father?) listed in the 1820 census at Goshen Gore. James Barker Jr. married my gr grandmother, Elizabeth Bullis, in Iowa when she was 18 and he was around 38 in 1854. I would assume he was either at war -Blackhawk maybe - or he had another family before that. Nothing in our family lore mentions a previous marriage but that is pretty late to get married for the first time. Can anyone help me find information about either of these James Barker's. I was told that they came originally from Rhode Island. Thanks, Coral Barker Allbee

    3. Please let me know if you find out anything on your James Barkers. I too am looking for my gfather and ggfather both named James W. Barker. All I have been to confirm is my gfather married my gmother in CO. in 1894. The 1900 census says his parents were from NY and Eng. Mothers name was unknown, and his birth date was 3-27- 1867. I have been at a brick wall for years. Thanks Gary Barker CORALAA@aol.com wrote: > James Barker Jr. was born in Caledonia Co.
