    1. [BARKER] BARKER, JAMES - SUFFOLK, ENGLAND
    2. JOAnKERm
    3. Searching for information on JESSE BARKER - about 1755 NC or VA. In 1790 lived in Edgefield County, SC. Children were: James SR (1770-73 NC or VA), Ephriam, John, Thomas, Jesse, Agatha, Abigail, Mary, Catherine. Rumor his father may have been a WILLIAM BARKER. Rumor his immigrant ancestor may have been JAMES BARKER from ENGLAND, who settled in Henrico, County VA in 1636. UNKNOWN if this James was really the JOHN BARKER that others have been talking about. Does anyone have a list of the 14 children of JOHN BARKER the son of CHARLES BARKER? Also would like to learn more about the WILLIAM BARKER line that was mentioned. Have not been able to climb the brick wall of Jesse (1755) so decided to start further back and try to come forward to Jesse. Are certain that family from England probably in 1630's , to VA, to NC, to SC in 1790. Joan Barker Leir

He died in Washington County, VA and had the following children: Thomas, John, Joel, Charles, Rachel, Susan, Elizabeth, and Mary. I do not know when his family arrived in America or where they came from. Any help will be appreciated, Glenda Scarborough

    3. I am also searching for information on JESSE BARKER - 1755 NC or maybe VA. However, since so many of us are searching for information on Jesse and no luck--- I thought maybe trying to find information on JAMES BARKER who is rumored to be the immigrant ancestor might give us some kind of a break in our brick wall. Apparently JAMES BARKER came to the US around 1636 from England. Joan

    3. Howard, Your email regarding Thomas Barker in Monroe County, MO caught my attention. I have been researching Barkers in Mo. and NE. My gr.gr. grandfather was John W. Barker born 1845 in Indiana, married 1868 in Bethany Co., MO. His fathers name was Thomas Barker. I believe John Barker had 1 brother named Thomas, Jr. I am wondering if there is a connection. 2. Mimi Barker
    3. I am looking for the death record of Benjamin Howland Barker, born July 29, 1773 in Lincoln Co., Maine, and died October 11, 1870. I thought he died in Weyauwega, Waupaca Co, WI, but the county records office there has no record of his death, only of a Benjamin H. Barker, born 11-16-1816 and died 12-25-07. My Benjamin shows up in the 1850 census living with his grandson, Carr Barker in Weyauwega, WI. I assumed he had moved to Wisconsin, but perhaps he was only visiting. I have not yet found him in either the 1860 or 1870 census. Does anyone else have this Benjamin in their files, and maybe have some different information? Thanks. Mimi
