Having just subscribed to this list, I am wondering if "Bargar" is a common spelling variation of the surname BARGER. My 2nd g-grandfather was named George W. Bargar. He was born in Maryland in 1827. I have located his marriage to Amanda Spicer in Baltimore Cty. on Aug. 11, 1849. I believe, but do not have confirmation, that there is an 1827 Maryland birth record indicating the birth of a George Washington Barger(ar). George and Amanda moved to Fairfield Cty., OH sometime after 1852, as my g-grandmother Julia Stansbery Bargar was born in Maryland that year.
