    3. Greetings, Friends & Cousins, It's getting close to Halloween, and for some of us that brings to mind witches and goblins, but we genealogists probably think more of old cemeteries. Over the years, I've cut through poison oak, tramped through poison ivy, disturbed spiders and snakes and encountered all maner of wild creatures while looking for Barger graves. Unfortunatly, many of the graves have been untended, some I suspect were never marked, and cemeteries are falling into ruins. In one case, I passed by the same place a dozen times before I recognized the slightly elevated place in the midst of a swamp off a highway in Tennessee as the burial place of some relatives. To help you avoid some of these adventures, I am starting a notebook for obituaries, directions to cemeteries, photographs of grave stones, etc. It might sound a little morbid, but when you need the information, you will be glad that I started this little project. In the meantime, I have started a webpage with a list of Bargers and where they are buried. You will find it at http://members.tripod.com/~suzid/graves.html Please feel free to send me information to add to this list. I suspect that if we fail to keep track of these ancestors we have so diligently found, they just might haunt us......Happy Haloween! Susan
