Oh I would love it if there is a connection between our families. I wish I could have found your post earlier I just did a google search and found you. My great-grandmother was Minnie Barefoot (Bearfoot) not real sure on the spelling. Anyway, her father was a sub-chief of sorts and yes that made her a princess. My grandfather was born on the reservation about 30 miles from New Mexico and he was born in 1895. My father tells me that she married a white man who was the father of my grandfather and Minnie was his mother. They apparently died when my grandpa was 11 years old. He went to live with his father's uncle William. My grandpa's father's name he said was Charles or Charlie. My grandfather I believe left the reservation with Bert Bedford as they arrived in Indiana at the same time. My grandfathers name was William Henry Adkins. i sure would be interested in conversing with you on all of this as my grandpa didn't talk much about his family and I am unsure why. And my dad doesn't know hardly anytyhing either. My aunt told me about Minnie but name only.
