But after his parents death around 1906 he was sent to his father's brother Bill/William or could have been his mothers brother an Uncle Bill/William. I also don't know when his folks were born or how old they were when they died or why they died. My dad says grandpa always told him he was born 30 miles from the Gulf but records say he was born in New Mexico. Someone told me they were moved to Oklahoma so that may be where they finally settled. I have no last name for Uncle Bill/William. But my grandfathers SS# says it was obtained in Arkansas so that may have been where Uncle Bill lived. Grandpa was listed in the early Census as Cherokee, he was a shoe cobbler. I have a few photos of him and there are a few in the Adkins family tree here at Ancestry. Feel free to look if you like. I just have been so stressed trying to find all the info I need.
