Noah Barefoot was my 3rd great grandfather, Clarky (or Clarka or Clarkie)Barefoot was my 2nd great grandmother, who was white. and born in Meadows Township, Johnston County. NC. Yes, she had 3 daughters by Dennis Gainey (Free Slave) and 1 son by a white Tart man from Sampson County, NC. . Her daughters were Mary E., Winifred (my great grandmother,(sometimes called Winny) and Faithy Barefoot.. Please tell me who is Jack Barefoot? I have not heard his name before. So there were 8 Free slaves in that Household, so do you know the connection the White Barefoot Family? Were there in any names in a Will, deed or any other information. I have the "Barefoot Famies of the South" by Sue Cannady Barefoot. Daniel Warrne another Bearfoot Relative worked on the book with Sue. Sue married into the Barefoot family as you may have noticed.. My great grandparents, Winifred Barefoot who married Silas West and there older children in the book. I must say all of Clarky's children. There may have been 2 more children but they have not been proven yet. But for a long time the Sue and Dan Warren did not any of the Mulatto/Black descendants until we began E-mailing each other.
