I show he had two brothers William b. abt.1813 and Bythum b. abt. 1815. William b. abt. 1777 was the son of Miles b. abt. 1748 d. 1778 in Johnston Co., NC This William b. abt. 1777 is documented through the Sampson County Deed, 1797 from William Smith to Nathan Godwin, Wit: William Barefoot and Richard Godwin. Also, Secretary of State Land Grant, Johnston County, File #3141 states on 19 September 1793--To Josiah Baggett 100 acres on the SS of the south prong of Mill Creek on the Hogpen Branch beginning at a pin not far from Noah Barefoot's line to a pine near Baggett's corner to Jesse Lee's corner. Surveyed 24 November 1797 by John Bryan, Dept. Surveyor. Miles Barefoot and William Barefoot chain carriers. During the 1790's William, Miles and John appeared together in Johnston County and Sampson County, North Carolina. By 1810 they all had moved to Georgia. By the Georgia census records they all were born between 1770-1780 and moved together through the years. In the 1830 Pulaski County, Georgia Census shows 1 male 50-60, 1 female 15-20, 1 female 50-60. In 1840 the Pulaski County, Georgia Census shows the William as 1 male 60-70 years of age. William lived almost side by side, in Pulaski County, Georgia for over 30 years, to Miles Barefoot born 1775. It is believed but not proven that William and Miles were brothers. He is listed on the 1820 Pulaski County, Georgia Census. In the 1830 Pulaski County, Georgia Census shows 1 male 50-60, 1 female 15-20, 1 female 50-60. In the 1840 Pulaski County, Georgia Census shows William as 1 male 60-70 years of age. This William b. 1777 had brothers Miles, John and Unk Barefoot Miles b. 1748 was a son of Noah Sr.b. abt. 1725 d. May 1793 of Johnston Co., NC and unknown. He had siblings Grace, John Mary, Charity, Noah Jr. and Nancy. Noah Sr. b. abt. 1725 was the son of John b. abt. 1688 who was a son of Old Noah b. abt. 1650s. As you can see each generation had a lot of Noahs, Johns, Miles, Williams, Mary, Elizabeths, etc. They kept naming their children by their g-fathers, uncles and the like. You have to have their birth dates to keep them straight. Hope this helps. Sueb Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
