I believe his parents were Benjamin Barefoot, b. 1764, and Rebecca Ross, b. 1769, both from Pennsylvania. I cannot seem to find a link beyond that point for the Barefoot name to see where they may have immigrated from. There has been much discussion in my family that it could be Irish, English, German, or Native American. Any suggestions on where to best search next would be most appreciated. I don't have parents or siblings for either of them. Their son Maxie b abt 1911 marr Fannie B. Turner dau of William Henry Turner & Betty Burl Toler of Caroline Co. Anyway I found 1 photo of a Brule sub-chief Bearfoot. He was the only Bearfoot in all the photos. It may or may not be from your family. Brule was a mixture of 2 tribes combined. I have never heard of the 2 gentlemen that you mentioned but somebody else contacted me here about a Thomas Barefoot. But I don't remember what the name was.
