My aunt Fay told me her name which she included the "Princess" part. All I know is that her father was a sub-chief of some type. I keep hitting brick walls. But my Grandfather was born on a reservation but for some reason whether to hide his native type he was sent to live with an Uncle Bill (I assume Adkins) and grandpa ended up in Arkansas after his parents death when he was 11 yrs. old. Any help you could give would be most appreciative from your line. Thanks Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Ala. However, you probably need to look into Miles Barefoot b. abt. 1811 in SC and died Abt. 1860 in Alabama. He was married to Elizabeth Broxton who was born about 1815. They were married in Pulaski County, Ga. 12-7-1828. They had 13 known children. Most are listed on the 1850 census with eldest son Joel living next door. According to John P. Johnston a local historian in Pike County, Alabama, Miles is buried in a rural area of Pike County, Alabama. Mr. Johnston also states this family of Barefoots changed their name to Barfoot while living in Alabama. This same Miles was married second to Mary McGuire married 1859 in Pike Co. Ala. The Chester you are looking for may have descended from this Miles Barefoot. Hope maybe I have given you a new direction in which to look. I have a question for you.......Have you ever heard of a Sion Barefoot who died in Sampson Co., NC in 1841? If so, do you know who his parents were? He was married at least twice however, I only have the name of one of his wives--I believe Elizabeth Godwin was his second wife. He had 8 children by a previous marriage(s) when he married Elizabeth Godwin in Johnston County NC, July 27, 1831. This marriage was confirmed by the The Declaration for Pension of Widow of War of 1812, the General Affidavit and the Summary of Proof documents from the National Archives, Washington, D. C. He and Elizabeth Godwin also had 8 children and most were also included in the estate division. One of those first 8 children had a confirmed birth date of 9-13-1826. These children were confirmed their fathers children by either their death certificate or their father's estate division CR.056.501.23 land division CR.056.508.10. I have written a book Barefoot Families of the South which lists this family and how they relate back to Noah Barefoot of the 1650s in Surry County, Va. down to present day.
