I have never been sure of the spelling of the last name. Run into all sorts of problems tracing them. I know she is not listed in any of the rolls but I was told by my father that she was married to a Charlie Adkins and there is one listed where he made application but I don't think anything came of it. I was told my grandfather was born on a reservation. Most of the relatives of ours are from TN, AR, and is possibly a record some where in one of the Archdiocese in Texas. I haven't really been able to do much with it as my resources etc. are limited and I'm disabled. But I sure would like to get much more info on them. Maybe we could pool our resources etc. I know my grandfather was called William Henry Adkins and there is a photo of a chief William Henry Adkins so I dunno if he was the uncle that may have rais! ed my grandfather or not. His parents died when he was 11 yrs. old. Dunno from what or how. I'm getting a headache from all these brick walls I run in to. lol But please keep in touch. I have been trying to locate my ggg grandmother Sarah/Sally Barefoot's parents for some time now, also of Indian ancestry. I am told by the elders in my family they are of Creek descent and I know just down in Alabama there are some Barefoot's listed on the Creek Nation census so this may be them. We found her just up in Tn and she was born around 1820 and resided in Obion County TN until her death in 1894 & buried in Shady Grove Cemetery. She was first married briefly to a Joshua Hill and after his death married James Hubbs for some time & had several children from this union. Any siblings are unknown as well as her parents. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you Robin Holt
