He was here in 1823 and most of his family stayed around SC. He is most likely descended from Noah Sr. of Johnston Co. NC. but we're missing some info. I havent ran across an Indian Barefoot in my research....I have traced some(not my own) back to England and Scotland though. Barefoot is a NC name.

Genny Going back through the message thread on the Barefoot Board, I find this information: Barefoots in PA Date: 25 Jan 2001 2:45 Cindi, There is a book "Genealogy of James Barefoot, Sr. and Mary Sleek (Slick) Barefoot". We purchased it about four years ago for $35 from Gary Mickle at 304 Mock Ridge Rd., Alum Bank, PA 15521. His phone number is (814) 276-3749. There is a yearly reunion during the summer near Bedford. We have never attended, but talk with Gary Mickle and he might be able to give you a contact person and more information. In the book, it lists a Neal Deloss Barefoot (3/4/1889-7/18/1984). There is also a picture of him as a baby with his brothers and sisters. Under the children, there is a J. Kirk Barefoot (2/23/1927). He has four children listed, but your name is not listed. There isn't a Job listed as a child of Neal Barefoot in the book. The book was to be updated with an addendum book, but so far we haven't heard anything. I will pass your msg to her so that she can email you. I did find 1 Barefoot in the Dale Co. Census of 1850. I will check when I have time as I am helping with the Barefoot and Watson Research. I am concentrating on Dale Co. as my Browns and Sullivans were early arrivals to Dale Co. THe sullivans were no problem finding but there are so many Browns its difficult to find the right ones. Hope we can be of some help. NB
