Thanks, David, for the information...we may be on to something...I feel sure that there must be a connection. I've packed away some of my genealogial stuff, so will ask my dad for a copy of the marriage certificate to send you. My sister Janet Finley Davis may have this information (since my stuff is packed up) but there were apparently 2 George W. Barbers floating around, possibly cousins...there are some documents (wills and such) in which there was a distinction made, naming George WADE...and making it sound as if it were natural to confuse the two. I had written to a guy who was descended from Asa Barber (brother of William) because he had some information I thought was interesting...he has 2 missing children from Asa's line...a male born around 1820 (Littleton born 1821) and a female named Mary born around 1822-1823, if I remember correctly. Strange, huh? I'm hoping to be able to trace Littleton's other descendants and see if they know anything. Have you checked www.genforum.com for the Barber website? I posted Littleton's descendants there. Becky ( my c key keeps sticking, so I apologize for any weird spellings in my post.)
