Kay, I was going through my ton of unread e-mail and came accross yours. So much of the Barber info is of no use, but your mention of Peter Barber and New Jersey. My Great Grandfather Peter M. Barber was born in South Amboy NJ on Dec 16,1842. I know from the 1880 census that his mother's name was Elsie and was born around 1810 or 1811 in NJ. My Peter was a member of Co K. 28th NJ Volunteers during the Civil War and Died in March of 1905 in Matawan NJ. I have more info on him if you are interested. Someone sent ma copy of the page of the 1850 NJ census which shows a 7 year old Peter Barber of South Amboy, the son of a Peter Barber. This Peter must be a close relative of your Peter Barber. My Peter lived in a township of Browntown which is between South Amboy and Old Bridge on RT 9. There is an old school called Browntown there. hope this helps Mark Barber mbarber@clevelandschools.org kaybarber wrote: > Seeking ANY information on the family of Peter Barber, b. abt 1814 in NJ?
