Hi Linda, Sorry to be slow to respond to your message repeated below, and I can't offer much help. The only Joseph Barber I have is the one here: 1850 Census - Columbia Co GA pg 21 Barber, Frances 50 F [b 1799-1800] 500 acres b Ga , Joseph 19 M [b 1830-1831] b Ga , George 16 M [b 1833-1834] b Ga , Mary 3 F [b1846-1847] b Ga [it has been suggested that this is Littleton Barber's child] I think Mary may be my Mary Barber marr Thomas Jefferson Smith, It seems like that the father of this family may have been named Joseph or George. Does it look like it could be your Joseph? Were any of the Barbers in Capt Geo's line in VA early on? Our Joseph married Celia Jones and their dau, Martha Jane, married Elias Butler Queen whose folks came from NC. There were several marriages between Queens and Orrs, and some Clark marriages with Queens and one Bryant, also. Joseph and Celia married in Franklin Co, VA in 1830 and family members migrated to AL, GA and TX. Thanks, Linda >>
Hi David, No, it doesn't look like mine, but they might be cousins. Mine is determined not to be found, it seems. Thanks, though, for checking and responding to my post.
