Still looking for a connection also. Looking for anyone who might be related to Uriah Barber born in 1761 in Northumberland Co., PA. Sorry I do not know the city. Maybe there was no city back then? Anyway, Uriah Barber married Barbara Clingman. Uriah had 10-11 children. When Henry Massie laid out the town of Portsmouth in 1802, Mr. Barber bought a lot from him on condition of his building a good two-story log house, and opening a tavern. He built the house and moved into it. But in 1804 his wife died, giving birth to her 10th child. This was the first child born in Portsmouth. Any help would be appreciated.
