I think Mary's father might have been Robert Barber who was born in GA around 1768-69 and married Sarah Orr . They were early residents of Athens, GA ( Clarke Co ). Robert's father was Capt George Barber of the Wilkes Co,GA area, and his father was George Barber who died in Augusta CO, VA around 1745. According to my records Mary was born around 1796 and married Samuel Bryant of Clarke Co, GA. Also might mention that Robert Watkins was an ancestor of Mary and that she apparently named one of her sons after him in 1826. There is a lot of information available on the families of Capt George Barber and also Robert Watkins, Reese Watkins. Good luck.
