Note: Daughter Harriet, age 16 is living as a domestic servant with family of William Spaulding. Also in the Spaulding household is Murand Decker, age 57 b. NY, farm laborer--it is unknown who Murand Decker is. No record for Samuel's son, James F. Decker seen in Town of Newfane. Ward, also one of the children and heirs of law of deceased; and Frederick Fuller Palmatier. The above named infants by Richard Barber their General Guardian heretofore presented a Petition for Salee of James O. King, appointed guardian. Decker not found but strongly believed to be with his wife's family at Corwin Cemetery in Niagara County NY, Town of Newfane. Personal visits could not find their graves in Barber family plot but there are unreadable tombstones. Cemetery records reportedly burned in a fire but this disaster not independently verified.
