Hello, I am trying to research some of my Barber line who came to Canada from England. But have had no luck finding anything out before Canada. Can anyone help me? I have this so far: John Andrew Barber was born November, 1831 in Kirkburton, Yorkshire, England. His parents were John Barber and Jane Burtop. He married Anne May Durnley in Cheshire and came to Canada with their three small daughters in 1863. They were Mary born in 1855, Nancy born in 1857 and Ada born in 1861. They had three more children in Canada Alice born in 1868, Lydia born in 1874 and Joseph born September 5, 1873. John Andrew died in 1916 and Anne died in 1894. Their son Joseph married Annie Mabel Holland. They had four children Annie Ruth born in 1902, Lila May born in 1905, George Andrew born in 1909 and John Arlie born in 1915. George Andrew Barber married Margaret Louise Rybeck/Mcphail on July 8, 1931. They had four children Donald died at birth, Russell born in 1932 , Joseph born in 1935, William born in 1942. George died in 1993, and Margaret died in 1995. My father Joseph died in 1998. My uncle Russell was kind enough to have researched this far with a cousin of his, but I would like to find out more about my family as I have had little or no contact with them in over 25 years.
