I'd like to try an experiment: I wanted to map out where the various Barber bunches started out from and ended up . Could you send me the names of your Barbers, the years involved, where they started out and where they settled? And where they lived in between? I was struck by the number of Barbers who are seemingly unrelated but who lived in Bertie Co., N.C....for example. Or the number of Barber families who happened to move to Washington, Ga. in Wilkes Co. Or to Clarke County, Ga. Or the whole bunch who moved to Fla. or to Texas. If there are a number of Barbers who lived in North Carlina, for example, and who moved to Washington, Georgia in the same time frame and who lived in close proximity....then there are questions to ask. Maybe we could compare notes that way or brainstorm and see what documents we could be hunting. I'm primarily interested in the Southern Barbers, but maybe someone would like to do this for the Northern Barbers, the English Barbers, and the Australian Barbers. If we're stuck at brick walls and don't have brickbats we may have to use brute force to tear it down! I live in Athens, Georgia which is one hour away from Washington, Georgia and plan to go genealogy hunting when I'm back on my feet. (I've had 3 surgeries and shingles in the last 13 months....actually, since I really got into this Barber hunt......hmmmmm.) So maybe I can look for some information. I plan to start looking at the old newspapers for Washington and Oglethorpe County. Any comments, suggestions? Becky
