She is buried in the Gibson Cemetery near Fandon, > >Illinois. > > > This is her newspaper obituary : > Lettie Tandy, daughter of Samuel Barber and wife, was born in Wisconsin March 14, 1850, and departed this life at her late home in Fandon March 27, 1930, at the age of 80 years and 13 days. > She was of a family of six children of whom there are living two half brothers, William and James Lucas, of Bushnell ; and two half sisters, Mrs. Mike Arnold of Bushnell and Mrs. Miney Tarantino of St. Louis. > She was wedded to Jeptha M. Tandy in 1866 who was a veteran of the Civil War and who departed this life in 1908. > To this union were born eleven children as follows : Mrs. Albert Rippetoe of Clayton, Ill. ; Mrs. Lizzie Steele, of Macomb, Ill. ; Mrs. Una Featherlin, of near Fandon, Ill. ; Mrs. Maude Coghill of Blandinsville, Ill. ; and Frank, James and Earl of Fandon. > She came with her parents to Tennessee, Illinois at the age of 9 and with the exception of a few years in Kansas and Iowa, she spent her life in McDonough County and the last 35 years have been in Fandon. > She and her husband were charter members of the Fandon Christian Church which was organized under the leadership of Rev. F. M. Branic and she was a loyal member and worker through those early years. > She was a most devoted mother, always happy and glad when the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren came back to the little house to visit her. > Funeral services were held at the Fandon Christian Church March 29.
