    3. Thanks, Joan for responding. I can't make a connection to any places you mention, and since your Isaac was not born in 1828-9 there is no help there either. I believe g.gf. Isacc's father's name was Alexander or Alexander could have been his uncle, I'm not sure. 3. I wish I could say yes. I have an Isaac Jones Barber b 1830, but he was b in Franklin Co, VA. His father was Joseph Barber b 1803, and I can't find parents for Joseph. It the places matched, I could easily believe that my Joseph was a younger bro of the Isaac you mention, and that if we found a parent, we would both be happy. Who are the children of Isaac b 1795? 1. Re: [BARBER-L] MOSES BARBER AND ROBERT BARBER
    2. Ken, I do not know if anyone from this family moved to GA or not. There were many children. I know that our direct descendants did not. The ones I previously mentioned, moved as follows: Robert was married in Weston, MA, and died in Warren, Worcester, MA. He had 15 children - I do not know where they all ended up. I do know his son, John, moved to Bridport, Addison Co., VT with his family. He had 10 children. His son Joel, died in VT. Joel's son Woodbridge, was married in Cornwall, Addison, VT, and had 5 children I know of. Woodbridge died in Yates, Orleans Co., NY, where he had moved with his family. His son, Edwin Joel, was born in Cornwall, VT, lived in NY with his parents (moved there when he was 6). He was married twice, the second time in VA to a woman from a family he met during the Civil War. Edwin moved to Onarga, Iroquois, Illinois, where 4 of his 8 children (between both marriages) were born. Sorry I cannot be of help about the Barbers in GA. Debbie

    3. Hi, I am a new member to the list and I hope someone out there can help find the parents of my g.g.father Isaac Barber. Family history places him in N.Y. state at birth in 1828-9 and I know he was in Illinois by 1860. Also, Isaac seems to be a name used in this line for first and or second born sons. I find the name still in use among my uncle's and g. uncle's as late as the 1900's, this may help identfy the correct line. My question then is, does anyone have a Barber ancestor born between 1820-1840 in N.Y. that has a sibling or cousin named Isaac or Robert J. ? I would appreciate hearing from you, perhaps we can break through the wall created when g.g.Isaac left N.Y. Charles N. Barber cbbnc@mediaone.net

    3. Still looking for a connection also. Looking for anyone who might be related to Uriah Barber born in 1761 in Northumberland Co., PA. Sorry I do not know the city. Maybe there was no city back then? Anyway, Uriah Barber married Barbara Clingman. Uriah had 10-11 children. When Henry Massie laid out the town of Portsmouth in 1802, Mr. Barber bought a lot from him on condition of his building a good two-story log house, and opening a tavern. He built the house and moved into it. But in 1804 his wife died, giving birth to her 10th child. This was the first child born in Portsmouth. Any help would be appreciated.
