    3. Hello to All: I have been watching with much interest all of the e-mails about Moses Barber and his descendants. I'm happy for all of you that you have contacts. Unfortunately for me - I have no connection with this Barber family nor any other that I can see so far. The story of my genealogy life <grin>! What I know about my Barber family is as follows: Samuel Barber + Catherine Adams (both born in Ireland - know not where) Adam Barber m. (1) Lanah Clowes 1838, Allegheny Co., PA & (2) Sarah Hetzer 1852, Meigs Co., OH Philip Barber + Jennie Lorentz 1889, Meigs Co., OH Leona Barber + Frank Chambers 1919, Natrona Co., WY me Samuel and Catherine may have been married in Ireland. They lived in Westmoreland Co. with many other Barbers, all of whom were from Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland. Adam and Lanah had only two children who lived to adulthood; Adam and Sarah had 11 children. My grandfather, Philip was their oldest son, b. 1856 in Pittsburgh. Philip and Jennie came west, lived in Aspen, CO, then homesteaded in Lusk, Wyoming. If anyone out there thinks they have even a remote connection to this Barber family, I would be absolutely ecstatic!! Jody Nestler

    3. Hi everyone, I know just how Jody Nestler feels. It seems that every Barber in the world is related to Moses Barber except for my family and Jody's. Jane Barber, my gggrandmother, born in 1791, married Reverend John Haskins, born in 1784, both in Essex County, N.Y. moved to Crawford County, Randolph Township, Pa. where they raised their children and lived out their lives. I cannot find any record of their parentage in N.Y. Frustrating! Now, if they were just relatives of Moses Barber, the whole world would beat a path to my door <grin>.Thanks for listening! 2. Hi Carmen, I would like to know more about the Uncle (Asa Barber) that you mention in your post. I descend from Asa Barber b ca 1789 in Chatom Co., NC. In 1820 he was living in Washington Co., Ga and later in Gadsden Co., Fl and Decatur Co. Ga. I would love to know if this is the Asa that you are talking about. Hope to hear more from you soon. 3. Linda, Ihave Joseph Barber born October 6, 1789 in PA and died 1815. I do not show a marriage. His father was Uriah Barber, Jr. b. 1761 in PA and his mother was Barbara Clingman b. January 16, 1761. I also have a Joseph BONSER born 1734. I wasn't sure if you were asking about Joseph Barber or Joseph Bonser, but am assuming you are asking about Barber. 3. Hi Phyllis, I do not (yet) have an Aaron Barber showing in my research, my family has several Barbers in and around Rutland (Benson), VT. They include: David Luke Barber (b. June 25, 1851; d. Dec 18, 1930) John Cady Barber (b. Aug 9, 1878; m. Sep 19, 1900) Ralph Benjamin Oliver Barber (b. July 21, 1901; d. Feb 1964) If this ties into your lines in any way, I'll be glad to help. Also, If anyone on the list has additional info on this Barber line, I would appreciate hearing from you. Good luck in the hunt.
