You are welcome, Rita! Suknaić sounded familiar, so I have checked my scans from Gospić archive (DAG). I have done a lot of research in Gospić and Karlovac municipalities in Croatia and it appears that Suknaić is a rare family name in Croatia, but most of Suknaić families were from Gospić in 19 century. Earlier than that, according to the Census of Lika and Krbava from 1712 by Karl Kaser, Suknaić families are from the settlements in and around Medak and Pazarište. Of course, today the most of people with that family name are settled in Zagreb which is historical sense of no particular significance since the trend of moving to Zagreb brought all imaginable family names to the capital). I am sure that you have good grounds to investigate further!
