Dear list-members, As by an identity card found, there was a Johann Michael Hipfel, * 29 SEP 1909 in Romania who lived 1955 in a suburb of Montevideo, Uruguay. He mentioned his parents as being Michael Hipfel and Katharina H, born Weldi. In my research to identify and connect the Hipfel/Hupfl clan, I was so far unable to locate his home village. Has anybody of you an idea how to connect him with a village or his family; may be via the indicated name of his mother. Where does one find the “Weldi” it is for the first time this name appears with the Hipfel family. There is reasonable guess that he went for Uruguay with other former SS-members after WW2.
